Beer ramen… yeah really.
Thankfully though this isn’t some hideous miso and pilsner mash-up, it’s just ramen made to look like a frothy lager and served in a beer mug.
A Japanese restaurant in Canada, Yuu Japanese Tapas, is attracting much attention for its incredibly unique dish called the “Chilled Beer Ramen.”The dish is basically ramen but instead of being served in a bowl, they serve it in a beer mug.
At first glance, one could mistake the meal for an actual beer with ramen noodles floating in it. The chilled bonito broth topped with fake foam made from egg whites and gelatin gives it that beer-like appearance. However, the dish does not contain any alcohol.

She said:
Thankfully we had a very hot summer this year in Vancouver and one day I was just sitting on the couch and it was so hot and thought about icy cold beer. And the next thing I thought, ‘why not beer ramen?’
