For any ordinary person, Microsoft Excel is basically used for analyzing data, preparing charts, and for solving complex mathematical functions. However, Excel is much more capable than you think. It can even be used to draw exceptionally beautiful landscapes. Don’t believe me? Then you’ve never heard about Tatsuo Horiuchi.
He’s an 81-year-old Japanese Artist who renders amazing landscape arts without paying for hefty art supplies. He dislikes the idea of paying lumps of money for creating art or even paying for basic software to do so. Mr. Horiuchi uses the features made for making charts and analytical graphs to create these fantastic designs. He even considers that Microsoft Excel is better than Microsoft Paint because it is way easy to use and has varieties of features.
Horiuchi even played around with Microsoft Word before finally settling on Excel. He thought the Word was too restrictive with its page sizes. He even participates in art competitions, and way back in 2006, he took the first prize in Excel Autoshape Art Contest 2006.
