According to a source, Kei Komuro has failed the New York state bar examination again. He failed the state bar exam in July last year and retook the exam in February. Komuro will likely retake the exam again in July.
In October, he married the niece of Emperor Naruhito amid criticism from the public over a financial dispute between his mother and her former fiancée. The couple, both 30 years old, left Japan to begin a new life in America in the following month.
The organizer stated that 3,068 people took the bar exam, and 1,378, which had a 45% pass rate.
Komuro is currently affiliated with a law firm and works as a clerk. He graduated from Fordham University a year ago.
The eldest daughter of Crown Prince Fumihito opted to skip the traditional rituals and decline a lump-sum payment in taxpayer money of approximately 150 million yen ($1.2million). This was a rare step for an imperial wedding.
The Imperial Household of Japan does not accept females as the heirs to the throne, so only males from the paternal side are candidates. The Imperial House law also dictates that the royal princesses who choose to marry commoners must renounce their titles.
Mako Komuro, former princess, revealed that she asked her husband to continue his plans to study abroad. Kei Komuro’s visa will expire in July and he will also be fired from his work if he fails to pass then he won’t have any other job that’ll qualify to extend his visa.
