Japanese Artist transforms Vintage sneakers into really expensive Planters

Japanese artist Kosuke Sugimoto, aka Shoetree, was first inspired to mix plants and sneakers after seeing the way roots can snake through brickwork and moss-covered, abandoned buildings.

With this in mind, Shoetree began creating his own version of the strange occurrence.

Swapping vintage sneakers for crumbling buildings, he began cultivating plant life on shoes.

This kind of deterioration process is known as hydrolysis and typically takes at least three years to come to completion. Sure, the process is slow.

Sure the results are unquestionably weird, but there’s no denying the sheer creativity on display.
