TWICE debuted with JYP Entertainment in 2015. It quickly rose to prominence as one of the most popular girl groups.
This week, they have added another item to their ever-growing collection of accomplishments that solidifies their position at the top.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (also called RIAJ) has certified Twice’s 2020 single, “I CAN’T STOP ME,” platinum. This means that the song’s total streams have now reached 100 million.
After 2019’s “Feel Special,” “I CAN’T STOP ME” was the second song by the group to achieve this certification. “The Feels” also achieved gold certification. “I Want You Back,” “BETTER,” “Perfect World,” all earned silver certifications.
These certifications are not the only accomplishment. Thanks to these new certifications, TWICE now have more than 1 billion streams in Japan. They are only the second Korean group to achieve this feat and the first Korean girl band to do it.
They are now entering their 7th year as a group, and there are high expectations for tremendous success. Setting such a colossal record is undoubtedly a boon for these women. TWICE congratulations on this incredible record!
