BTS once again makes headlines in Japan! Their music keeps being a great success among the Japanese, and once again, they have won another extraordinary award.
On the 30th of December, local time, the Japan Record Awards – an annual music awards ceremony widely thought of as the Japanese equivalent of the Grammy Awards, aired in real-time on TBS.
BTS won the Special International Music Award for the second year in a row. Even though the band members were not able to be there live, like they were the previous year, however, they expressed their gratitude through an audio recording of their acceptance speech, noting, “We’re thankful to be awarded this prestigious award once again following last year’s win. We’re pleased that so many people have listened to our music this year too.”
Another interesting fact is that ever since the Japan Records Show enlisted Special International Music Award in 2020 in their 62nd event, BTS has won them every time, i.e. two times.
Since BTS did not perform at the awards ceremony, the show broadcast footage of BTS’s performances to ” Butter” from their most recent ” PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE” online concert instead.
