This Japanese Artist Makes The Most Elaborate Fruit Carvings Ever

These lovely patterns transform ordinary edibles into works of art. Fruits and veggies have never looked better.

Crafted by Japanese artist Gaku, these patterns range from abstract to representational. We especially love the way her transforms bananas into dragons!

Most of these patterns are derived from traditional Japanese patterns. For example, Gaku’s carrot and broccoli patterns are inspired by the asanoha floral design found in Japanese art.

But no matter the inspiration, Gaku definitely has a knack for applying traditional carving techniques to the fruit and veggie department.
