What would you do if you suddenly started craving premium Wagyu late at night that too in a rural area of Japan? Well, in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, you can satisfy your hunger if you just head towards the warm glow of a Wagyu vending machine and get your craving satisfied.
A reporter from Soranews24, Haruka Takagi, recently got the opportunity to try out this mysterious machine while on her bicycle along with the rice fields. When she finally saw the machine, she was thrilled to discover it was packed with more than just any Wagyu and a premium brand she had grown accustomed to.
This brand’s name is Yutakaushi, and the product will be available daily since the vending machine is close to Tanizawa Ranch.
At first, the ranch offered Wagyu directly from its sales office on only Tuesdays. However, due to demand, they installed an outlet outside the sales office to ensure that customers could purchase their products anytime.
The varieties offered include hamburger-style steaks (1,500 yen), shoulders roast (1,800 yen), thinly cut shoulder roasts for Yakiniku (1,700 yen ), as well as offal (1,000 yen) as well as sirloin steak (1,600).
The prices here were higher than the usual beef items you can buy at the store. Don’t be surprised though because everything is high-quality Wagyu. A look at the display on the push-button showed that some of the items were out of stock; however, there was still plenty of the shoulder roast, and sirloin meat was available.
The beef is vacuum-sealed at -20 degrees Celsius and comes with an expiry date of three months. The Wagyu beef doesn’t have any cons over the ones you find at stores. So give it a try if you run into this machine at Aichi-ken, Toyota-shi, Masuzuka Nishimachi Kitayashiki 120-3
