Japanese Artist Brings Stones To Life By Turning Them Into Tiny Animals

July 22, 2021 by World News

JAPAN|

“I want to paint the life, the living spirit of the being that I feel is inside them.” This is the motto of the Japanese artist Akie Nakata, who has dedicated herself to transforming simple stones into true artworks that become too realistic, and even, are confused with reality at first sight.“For me, stones are not just simple materials or canvases to paint on. Throughout all those numerous ones that are in the edge of a lake, one, looking at me like an animal, catches me”.

The images of Nakata’s creations have traveled around the world because of the talent and precision with which she manages to capture what she wants.“When I find a stone, I feel that it has found me too.”
