Shibuya Sky observation deck has quickly become one of Tokyo’s most popular tourist attractions since it was inaugurated at the top of Shibuya Scramble Square.
The observation deck is open to the public and offers 360-degree views of Tokyo from a staggering 230 meters above the ground. You have a view of all of Tokyo’s most famous landmarks, including Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, and even Mt Fuji, on a clear day. It also features an impressive rooftop bar which reopened amid Golden Week on Thursday, April 28.
The bar and lounge on the rooftop, known by the name of The Roof, is open to the public for a short period beginning on April 28 and running until January 9 in 2023. Customers can enjoy drinks and snacks, like wine and beer, and mocktails and cocktails. Bar hours are from 4:30 pm to 10 pm every night (from 5 pm only during August) and allow guests to view the sunset and Tokyo’s breathtaking skyline in the evening. To enhance the mood, the world-renowned producer and DJ Taku Takahashi also put together a set of music to enjoy the evening.
It is good to buy tickets in advance to ensure a comfortable sofa with city views. There is a limit of 50 minutes for every couch reservation. Tickets are available with a champagne or beverage package (4,500 yen per guest). Be aware that at least two guests are required to reserve a seat on the couch. If weather conditions are bad, The Roof will be shut.
